If you cannot attend a class as planned and wish to cancel your registration, you must notify York Technical College Workforce and Economic Development Division in writing at ceadmin@yorktech.edu.

*IF YOU CANCEL REGISTRATION FOR THE CLASS YOU WERE APPROVED, YOUR SCHOLARSHIP WILL BE VOIDED. YOU WILL NEED TO RE-APPLY FOR A FUTURE SCHOLARSHIP, IF AVAILABLE.
Cancellation fees will be issued as follows:
Requests made at least 10 business days in advance of class start: $0 service fee
Requests made less than 10 business days in advance of class start: Forfeiture of scholarship
If the College is forced to cancel a course for any reason, enrolled students will be provided the option to transfer to a later date without penalty.
NOTE: Some certificate programs may have a non-refundable seating fee which applies to each instance of registration.

Declaration of Legal Presence in the United States
As of June 4, 2008, the South Carolina Illegal Immigration Reform Act (S.C. Code Ann: 59- 101-430) prohibits those unlawfully present in the United States from attending a public institution of higher education in South Carolina and from receiving a public higher education benefit:
• An alien unlawfully present in the United States is not eligible to attend a public institution of higher learning in this State, as defined in Section 59-103-5. The trustees of a public institution of higher learning in this State shall develop and institute a process by which lawful presence in the United States is verified. In doing so, institution personnel shall not attempt to independently verify the immigration status of any alien, but shall verify any alien's immigration status with the federal government pursuant to 8 U.S.C. Section 1373(c).
• An alien unlawfully present in the United States is not eligible on the basic of residence for a public higher education benefit including, but not limited to, scholarship, financial aid, grants, or resident tuition.
YORK TECHNICAL COLLEGE may require you to submit documentation that supports your claim for lawful presence. Any student who is found to be unlawfully present in the United States will be dismissed from college.

Residency Information
Determination of Residency will be made in accordance with the South Carolina Code of Laws Title 59. Residency of college applicants is determined at the time of admission.

Dependent Status: Defined as one whose predominant source of income or support is from parents, spouse, guardian who claims the dependent person on his/her federal income tax return. A dependent person's residency is presumed to be that of the person upon whom they are dependent.
|
Independent Status: Defined as one in his or her majority (eighteen years of age or older) or an emancipated minor, whose predominant source of income is his/her own earnings or income from employment, investments, or payments from trusts, grants, schoarships, commerical loans or payment from trusts.

SC Wins Scholarship covers tuition and fees after applying all other scholarships and grants for South Carolina residents enrolled in a qualified program. Award amounts may be adjusted or canceled due to changes in enrollment or the availability of funds. If I am a credit student, I understand that I must achieve and maintain a 2.0 cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) for any renewal award(s). If I am a student registered in an industry-recognized credential, I understand that I must maintain satisfactory progress and meet attendance requirements of the program.
The maximum amount of SC Wins that can be awarded is $5000 per academic year. Students enrolled in an associate degree can receive up to 3 years (9 terms in total) of SC Wins funding. Students enrolled in an industry-recognized credential, a certificate or a diploma program, can receive up to 2 years(6 terms in total) of SC Wins funding.
