The Endoscopy Technician program provides students with the transferable skills required for entry-level employment as a member of the Surgical Services healthcare team in hospitals or surgical out-patient centers. The Endoscopy Technician is responsible for preparing the operating room and the equipment; providing support to physicians and nurses while the procedure is underway; and troubleshooting any issues pertaining to endoscopes, an instrument with a camera attached to its end. The Endoscopy Technician also plays an important role among the gastroenterology team throughout the Endoscopy procedure by helping to prepare materials, obtain specimens, and maintain a sterile field during the procedure as they ensure that all equipment is functioning properly.
This program will be offered at NO COST to participants at the Miami Dade College's Medical Campus location through a partnership with the Lennar Foundation. Through this partnership students will receive tuition, books, uniform, and background check.
