Honors Internship Proposal
|
Qualifications:
- Internship must be include significant leadership responsibilities that align with a student’s academic or professional goals.
- Students cannot receive internship credit for a current full-time or part-time job.
- Students must be in active and good standing in the Honors Program.
- Students must complete a formal interview with the organization’s internship supervisor
Requirements:
- Each hour of course credit requires 45 hours of internship work logged.
- Maximum 3 credit hours per term.
- Maintain regular contact with your faculty mentor as agreed upon before the internship begins.
- Submit a timesheet each week.
- Submit a reflection paper at the end of the semester.
- Ensure the organization supervisor completes, and you submit, a final evaluation form by the end of the semester.

Each internship requires that a full-time UM faculty member be assigned as an instructor of record. For an Honors Internship, your faculty mentor could be the Honors Director (Dr. Walker), your major advisor, or another faculty member who agrees to work with you. Please talk to your chosen faculty mentor before proceeding.
