Overview: The TEACH Grant program awards up to $4,000 per year to eligible undergraduate and graduate students who intend to fulfill a service agreement. The award is pro-rated for part-time status. The student must be enrolled as an education major in a TEACH Grant-eligible program. A list of St. John Fisher University TEACH Grant-eligible majors is available at go.sjf.edu/student-financial-services.
TEACH Grant recipients must sign an Agreement to Serve, committing to the following:
-serving full-time as a highly qualified teacher

If TEACH Grant requirements including the above are not met, the TEACH Grant is converted to a Direct Unsubsidized Student Loan, with interest accrued from the date the grant was awarded.
To qualify for the TEACH Grant, the student must complete a 2025-26 Free Application for Federal Student Aid. A student must also qualify academically based on one of the following standards: Admissions test scores: SAT of 1200 or above, or ACT score of 24 or above or Cumulative Grade Point Average: 3.25 or above.
IMPORTANT : If you are awarded the grant based on GPA (not test scores), you must maintain at least a 3.25 GPA cumulative GPA for every semester covered by the grant. The Office of Student Financial Services will check your GPA prior to each term of the award period.
