Student Learning Facilitator (Tutor) – Tutoring Services
Hourly Rate
$14.50-$18.00 DOE
Work Schedule
Up to 24 hours a week
Monday – Friday (Hours May Vary)
Job Summary
Tutors work with students on a drop-in, one-to-one basis or in a scheduled, small-group setting. The purpose of tutoring is to reinforce learning, supplement instruction and enhance academic achievement. Tutors must be reliable and responsible about keeping schedules, recording/signing in/out of Time and Labor, and informing the supervisors of needed changes in the schedule.
Essential Functions
- Tutors students in respective subject area
- Provides quality academic support
- Provides students with tools and resources to foster independent learning
- Works to remain knowledgeable in the subjects he/she is qualified to tutor
- Provides encouragement to students and remains actively engaged
- Provides effective learning strategies
- Ensures students adhere to ethical standards when making use of tutoring services (i.e., tutors should be wary of plagiarism, AI-written essays, exams, etc.)
- Keeps the tutoring area and workspace clean and organized
- Ensures that all students have checked in and out of TracCloud
- Creates a friendly and welcoming environment conducive to learning
- Adheres to applicable policies and procedures
- Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Knowledgeable in subject area
- High School Diploma or GED are preferred
- Experience providing effective and courteous customer service
- To be hired, applicants must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 AND and GPA of 4.0 for the subject that they intend to tutor.
Desired Qualifications
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office and G-Suite (Google Meet, Drive, Sheets, Docs, Slides, Forms, Calendar) and TracCloud
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
