What You Need to Know: PLUS Loan Application Process at Pace University

The U.S. Department of Education makes Direct Graduate PLUS Loans available to graduate & professional students and Parent PLUS Loans available to eligible parents of dependent, undergraduate students to assist in covering remaining educational expenses once scholarships and grants are deducted.

To apply eligible borrowers must complete the Direct PLUS Loan Application at Studentaid.gov.

Please read the following information carefully, as these steps must be taken to complete the PLUS Loan application.

IMPORTANT: The PLUS Loan Application for the upcoming Fall 2025/Spring 2026 academic year will be available to complete at StudentAid.gov beginning late April.

PLUS Information Updates

IMPORTANT: Accepting the PLUS Loan option on your Pace Portal and/or completing a PLUS Master Promissory Note (MPN) alone will NOT count as an application, your PLUS Loan will ONLY reflect on your bill if a credit-approved loan application is received from StudentAid.gov.

Do not complete multiple applications for the same loan period! If you need to make a change, complete our Financial Aid Change Request form.

Steps to Take Before you Submit a PLUS Loan Application (all borrowers)

Step 1: First-time PLUS Loan Borrowers (parents and students) must have a unique Federal Student Aid (FSA) ID. If you do not have a unique FSA ID please visit StudentAid.gov to create one.

Step 2: Students must log into their Pace Portal to accept or decline all existing financial aid offers.

Step 3: The parent borrower or graduate student borrower must log into Studentaid.gov using their Federal Student Aid (FSA) ID.

Once logged in, click the "I'm a Parent" or "I'm in School" Checklist on the Federal Student Aid Dashboard.
Click "Apply for a PLUS Loan" to help pay for education expenses not covered by other aid.
Carefully read all PLUS Loan information and click "Start" to begin the application.
- Preview a read-only version of the Plus Loan Application on the Federal Student Aid website.
Important: Once you get to the "School Information" section of the application you must select "Pace University, One Pace Plaza, New York, NY 10038-1598" in order to send your application credit decision information to Pace University.

IMPORTANT

Do not submit multiple applications on Studentaid.gov for the same loan period! To make changes to an existing loan or loan application, submit a Financial Aid Change Request Form.
