A new form is required each semester you wish to certify hours.

Please read and acknowledge the following information regarding Certification of Enrollment for VA Education Benefits

I understand course additions, drops, withdrawals or any schedule changes must be reported to the OTC Veteran and Military Services Office (VMSO) via veterans@otc.edu.

*NOTICE: Failure to notify the VMSO of changes in your schedule can result in issues with benefit payments, which may include overpayment for which the VA will hold you responsible, underpayment of tuition and fees which may result in a balance due to the school, or delays in payment.

FAILING A CLASS:

Earned ‘F’ Grade: Students who have been attending and are present on and/or after the ‘Last day to drop or withdraw from courses’ for the term.
Unearned ‘F’ Grade: For students that stop attending at any point prior to the ‘Last day to drop or withdraw from courses’ for the term. OTC will report the ‘Last Day of Attendance,’ as submitted by the instructor, to the VA.

The VA will NOT pay for classes which are reflected as excess courses in your current degree audit.

*It is your responsibility to refer to your degree audit to confirm the required courses, which may include pre-requisites. If you are unsure about program requirements, please contact your College Navigator.

The VA will NOT pay for repeated courses if a passing grade has been earned.

*Only courses requiring a higher grade for matriculation (as listed in the OTC Catalog) may be considered for certification.

The VA will NOT pay for developmental courses, unless determined as needed by the VMSO office.

*Students must provide a copy of placement assessment to veterans@otc.edu: Guided Self Placement

The VA will NOT pay for Unapproved Programs.

* The current list of approved programs is found at via WEAMS.

Students using Chapters 30, 33, 35(not all) or 1606 benefits are required to verify attendance monthly with the VA.

*Opt-In to complete via text messaging; OR use the online system at WAVE; OR by phone at 1-877-823-2378.
*Students using Chapter 35 dependent and seeking a Certificate (rather than Associate Degree) are required to verify attendance monthly with the VA. For Chapter 35 dependents pursuing an Associate Degree, we strongly encourage you to call the VA and confirm if monthly verification will be required (1-888-442-4551).

All OTC students are required to enroll in a payment plan upon registration for classes.

*Failure to enroll can result in dis-enrollment, and student will have to re-register desired courses, if still available. Additional details can be found here: Financial Responsibility Agreement - OTC Finance Department

It is required by the VA that schools provide students with a College Shopping Sheet. This can be found in MyOTC or via the link on the Veteran Services website.
