Purpose

The Career Achiever Scholarship supports graduating high school seniors who plan to continue their education at Trenholm State Community College and pursue career-focused training. The scholarship encourages students as they take the next step toward achieving their career goals.

Scholarship Award

Amount: $2,000 per student

Allowable Use: Tuition, required fees, and textbooks only

Disbursement:
Scholarship funds will be disbursed in the semester following initial enrollment, contingent upon successful completion of all eligibility and award conditions.

Although the scholarship is valued at $2,000, students must maintain the required GPA and attend a minimum of two Career Services events during their first semester of enrollment in order to receive the scholarship funds in the following semester.

Eligibility Requirements

• High school senior graduating Spring 2026
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75
• Admitted to Trenholm State Community College for Summer or Fall 2026 in a certificate or degree program aligned with career goals
• Full-time enrollment required (minimum 12 credit hours)
• Funds must be used during the summer or fall semester immediately following graduation
• You must attend a minimum of two Career Services events during the semester in which the scholarship is awarded

Application Requirements

Applicants must submit:

• Completed TSCC Career Achiever Scholarship Application
• High school transcript showing a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75
• Two (2) signed professional letters of recommendation on letterhead. (Examples: Recommendation from principal, counselor, teacher, career coach, minister and/or employer. Letters from family members or friends will not be accepted.)
• 250-word essay: Describe the career path you plan to pursue after high school and explain why you chose this career.
• Resumé including work experience and community service, if applicable.

Selection Process

Applications will be reviewed by the Scholarship Committee. Selection will be based on academic achievement, career goals, essay quality, recommendations, and overall readiness for college success.

FAFSA Recommendation

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is not required for approval of a Trenholm State Career Achiever Scholarship; however, it is strongly recommended that all students complete the FAFSA. Completing the FAFSA helps determine eligibility for additional forms of financial assistance that may help cover tuition and fees that are not covered by the Career Achiever Scholarship.

The FAFSA is also recommended to confirm a student’s citizenship status. Students who do not complete the FAFSA will be required to submit additional documentation to verify their citizenship status before scholarship funds can be awarded.
