Thank you for reaching out to the Office of Teacher Preparation. The purpose of this form is to request the creation of or update to a Content Area Review (CAR) form.

The Content Area Review is an evaluation of your coursework to determine if you satisfy the licensure requirements for a specific teaching licensure program as required by the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE). Most of the CAR requirements are typically satisifed by a student's undergraduate coursework. If you haven’t met all requirements, the pre-education advisor will provide recommendations to meet each requirement. The content area requirements are in addition to specific teaching licensure coursework.
