Scholarships shall be awarded be awarded by the Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Steering Committee.

That Committee shall decide the number of scholarships and the value of each, depending on the funds available.

To be considered for the Susan M. Rigney Scholarship Endowment, a student must submit the following application materials below:

Statement of Commitment to Women’s Leadership: Submit two typed pages which draw on your personal, academic, and/or professional experiences. The Statement of Commitment should address:
- 1) Why you think you are a good fit for this scholarship?
- 2) What you have done in your personal, academic, work-related, and/or social life related to women’s issues (e.g., experiences involving issues related to women, projects or recognized programs you may have worked on or through; personal experiences with programs focused on reproductive rights, policy change, social justice, women’s history, global issues or ecofeminism; family life or workplace experiences, or confronting intersections of race, class, gender, and/or sexuality)? and
- 3) What are your academic strengths and limitations? Reference your transcript and explain all grades below a C.
