The Primary Care Technician for EMT (PCT) program prepares students for career opportunities in the areas of Community Paramedicine, health prevention, health behavior, and disease prevention. Students learn a variety of skills and strategies that will provide them with the necessary proficiencies to improve population health in diverse settings. The program focuses on the social and behavioral determinants of health, with a particular emphasis on health disparities and prevention. Following successful completion of 48 hours, 28 didactic and 20 clinical, graduates are qualified to assist by implementing predesigned prevention programs that address health disparities and that are intended to improve the health of diverse populations. This program awards certificate of completion.
This program will be offered at NO COST to participants at the Miami Dade College's Medical Campus location through a partnership with the Lennar Foundation. Through this partnership students will receive tuition, books, uniform, and background check.
