MPTC’s Credit via Experience process is intended for current program students seeking to convert their previous experiences (such as work, military service, volunteering, or specialized training) into college credit.
After submitting this form, your request will move through the following steps:
STEP 1: Consultation Session
A virtual or in-person consultation with the CPL Specialist to discuss your request is scheduled via a link provided to you in a follow-up email.
STEP 2: Verification of Skills
Students will submit a portfolio, complete a skills demonstration, or attempt a challenge exam to show how their experience fulfills course requirements.
STEP 3: Payment of CPL Processing Fee
A nonrefundable fee is required for each course included in the Credit via Experience request: $90 for a portfolio or demonstration, or $50 for a challenge exam. Fees are due upon submission of the portfolio or prior to completion of the demonstration or exam.
Please note that not all MPTC programs of study or courses are eligible for the Credit via Experience process.
